Hotel feedback survey templates, ready to copy
Three short templates for three moments: a post-stay check, an in-stay pulse, and an arrival check-in. They are designed to be answered quickly. For the complete ten-question satisfaction bank, use the dedicated question guide.
Template 1: the post-stay pulse
Use this when you want a quick read after departure. Ask one overall question, one question about the stage you are improving, and one open question. Keep the scale consistent so monthly results are comparable.
- Overall: how satisfied were you with your stay? (1 to 5)
- Stage: how satisfied were you with [the stage you are improving]? (1 to 5)
- Open: what is one thing we could have done better?
Template 2: the in-stay pulse
Send this during the stay when there is still time to recover the experience. Ask about the one moment you can fix today, not every dimension at once.
- So far, how satisfied are you with your stay? (1 to 5)
- Is there anything you need right now? (open)
Template 3: the arrival-focused questionnaire
Send this around two hours after check-in. It catches problems while the stay can still be fixed, especially room-readiness and expectation gaps.
- How smooth was your check-in? (1 to 5)
- Was your room ready and as booked? (yes or no)
- How was your first impression of the room? (1 to 5)
- Is there anything you need right now? (open)
When to use the full question bank
Use the dedicated hotel guest satisfaction survey questions guide when you need a complete post-stay survey across room, staff, facilities, connectivity, food and beverage, value, and overall recommendation. Use these shorter templates when response speed or in-stay recovery matters more than coverage.
Plain text, ready to paste into Google Forms, Typeform, or email. The full ten-question bank is on the linked question guide.

Good to know
How many questions should a hotel survey have?
Use the full ten-question bank for a detailed post-stay survey. For a quick post-stay or in-stay pulse, two to four focused questions are enough.
What scale should hotel surveys use?
A 1 to 5 scale, very dissatisfied to very satisfied, is the simplest to fill in and easy to score. Add one open-ended question for the problems the scale misses.
